OPERATIONAL REGULATIONS* JULY 2007

    SALE OF BURIAL SITES:
  1. The price for all sites is the same ($760.00) which includes cost of the plot of $500, a non-refundable maintenance fee of $250, and a recording fee of $10.
  2. Sites are available to all interested parties without restriction as to residency or religious affiliation.
  3. The size of the plot measures 5 feet by 10 feet.
  4. The sale of more than eight sites to any one party is subject to the written approval of the Snowmass Chapel Board of Trustees.
    MAINTENANCE OF THE CEMTERY:
  1. The cemetery shall be maintained in a natural meadow state. The grounds will not be mowed or "manicured."
  2. Native wildflowers may be planted, if desired, by the owner of a burial site, but the cemetery staff is not able to provide watering, weeding or any other maintenance of such plantings.
  3. During the winter, the road will be plowed only to allow for a burial. Access to the cemetery at other times shall be by snowshoes or cross-country skis.
    REGULTATION FO USE OF A BURIAL SITE:
  1. For a cemetery plot: one casket per plot or two cremains per plot or one casket and one cremain per plot.
  2. For a crematory site: two cremains per plot maximum.
  3. Only human remains may be interred on the property.
    LIMITATIONS ON HEADSTONES:
  1. Maximum size for headstones shall be twelve inches wide by thirty-six inches long with a 4" base to be laid flat on the surface of the ground.
  2. Grave stones or markers shall be of stone, granite or marble.
  3. Grave stones or markers shall be set in (or permanently bonded to) a level concrete foundation at least four inches deep. A companion marker needs 6" on each side.
    ARRANGEMENTS HANDLED BY THE CEMETERY STAFF:
  1. The cemetery staff shall arrange for necessary plowing or grading of the road immediately prior to a burial, and the cost of the plowing or grading shall be covered by the perpetual care fund.
  2. The cemetery staff shall arrange for the opening and closing of a grave and the cost of this service will be billed to the owner of the burial site.
  3. The cemetery staff will coordinate services with a funeral director, clergyman, etc. However, the cemetery staff is not in a position to arrange for special needs (e.g. purchase of a grave marker). A funeral director is best suited to handle these details.
